Kris Gross is an award winning multidisciplinary designer living in New York City. He has worked across multiple disciplines of visual communications, from concept to delivery, including brand identity, interactive media, digital graphics, web and mobile interface design, and studio photography. Prior to joining The Players’ Tribune, he was an associate designer for IPG Mediabrands, and content studio intern at R/GA. He holds his B.F.A. with an emphasis in graphic design from Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana. Recently, he has won a Webby Award for his design work for Book Of Isaiah II. He also won a Publication Design Award by the American Advertising Awards and was mentioned on Dallas Society of Visual Communications.
In his spare time he can be found surfing, snowboarding, fly-fishing, or hiking while consistently looking for inspiration all around. He aims to create a valuable experience that elicits emotion and real connections through the filter of design with each project and truly believes in structured collaboration to ensure good ideas become great ones that leave a lasting impact.

Using tools such as Balsamiq to navigate a variety of user functions and flows. Building high-fidelity mock-ups in Sketch for product testing. Analyzing user feedback and iterating designs. Collaborating with engineers on cost efficient vs not and following a road map that consists of 2 week sprints.

Create multi-platform custom content and native advertising campaigns that engage The Players' Tribune audience of marketing and advertising professionals. Currently work closely with editors, designers, and account managers on a variety of projects for our social team, product and advertising partners. Work ranges from interactive articles, illustrations, social, animation, print, and photography. Managing multiple projects on time and budget, while being responsible for sale concepting and proposal design to post-sale execution and layout.
IPG Mediabrands Associate Designer | Sept 2015 - Oct 2016
Designer for the Internal Design Studio at IPG Mediabrands. We support the marketing and new business departments by creating collateral for pitch campaigns while helping push the creative idea a step further in a compelling story. This involves a versatile approach with deck presentations done in powerpoint, digital mock-ups in photoshop, and illustrator, website design, print materials, infographics and email marketing. Creating a cohesive collaboration on multiple teams in varies markets and working on a multidisciplinary platform.
R/GA Content Studio & Visual Design Intern | May - Sept 2015
Collaborated with the production team on shoots, live broadcasts and case study work to show potential clients. Assisted on lighting, camera set up, and post-production edits. Worked closely with the Presentation Studio, a capability that designs content for live audiences through visual storytelling. Created assets and designed infographics that distilled an abundance of data for a presentation.
HURRAW! Lip Balm Graphic Design Intern | Jan - May 2015
Demonstrated ability to design within restraints and create a workbook that would help launch a new brand for a personal trainer. Worked on supervised conference calls with clients, developed knowledge and created strong interpersonal skills. Some production work included: manipulating a typeface for a logo, designing a complete stationery system with deliverables, worked to define and market a personal brand through social media in a strategic way to gain followers, and built ads for promotional use.
